Abutilon vitifolium, commonly known as Rose Mallow, is a quick growing, hardy shrub that becomes coated in pale blue flowers through summer. The flowers are great for attracting bees and butterflies. The foliage is dark green and held on slender, graceful stems. It can grow to 3 m tall and 2 m wide, but is usually kept much smaller with trimming. This lovely plant will grow equally well in full sun or partial shade and it tolerant of moderate frost and cool climates through it will tend to be deciduous in such environments. Abutilon vitifolium is commonly included in mixed plantings and cottage gardens, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
