Aloysia triphylla, commonly known as Lemon Beebrush, is a shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. The glossy, green leaves are slightly rough to the touch and emit a powerful lemon scent when bruised. Sprays of tiny, purple flowers are borne from spring through summer as it reaches 2 m tall and the same wide. Aloysia triphylla is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as a culinary herb, added to a cottage garden, or planted anywhere the fragrance and flowering this plant affords can be appreciated.
