Azalea Autumn Empress is grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering in spring and autumn. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of large and showy, two-tone pink flowers. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and the same wide, growing best when planted in a full sun or semi-shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site. When grown in full sun it tends to be more compact. Plants are tolerant of frost and cool climates, but do require good soil moisture levels during dry periods. When fertilising, avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. Azalea Autumn Empress is a great choice for adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around outdoor living areas such as pool and barbecue area, including in cottage gardens, or using anywhere a stunning plant is required.
