“Nino” is an Azalea grown for its lovely form and profuse flowering. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of fragrant, bright red, double flowers through spring. The flowers are complemented with lush, green foliage. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site that does not dry out. When fertilising avoid using lime as this will stunt or even kill plants. “Nino” is a great choice for adding to a mixed or border planting, planting around the base of larger trees, using around outdoor living areas, or planting anywhere a stunning plant is required. Cluster planting is very trendy and gives a colourful display.
