Azalea Red Poppy is a very colourful variety of Azalea. This hardy, evergreen shrub produces masses of showy, semi-double, deep red flowers with a satin sheen from winter through spring. The flowers are complemented with glossy, dark green leaves. It typically grows to 75 cm tall and the same wide, preferring a full sun or partial shade position that is well-drained, slightly acidic, semi-sheltered, and does not dry out. It is tolerant of moderate frost and coastal environments but intolerant of lime which can cause serious damage to plants and even death.
