Bambusa Wang Tsai Details

Bambusa multiplex Wang Tsai is a variety of Bamboo grown for its colourful stems and graceful, dark green, fern-like foliage. It is commonly known as Chinese Goddess Bamboo and typically grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide. This non-invasive species responds well to trimming which keeps it looking fresh and contains growth. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will grow on a wide range of soil types, except extreme wet or dry, and will tolerate moderate frost and coastal conditions but should be protected while it is establishing. Bambusa Wang Tsai is commonly planted for privacy screening, grown as a backdrop for smaller plants, used as an informal hedge, included in a courtyard garden, or maintained in a container.
