Beaufortia sparsa, commonly known as the Orange Bottle Brush Tree, is an attractive shrub grown for its amazing flowers. From late summer through autumn the plant is covered with bright, orange-red bottlebrush like flowers which are great for attracting birds. The flowers are held on wiry stems which also host small, light green, diamond shaped leaves. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved in full sun on a well-drained site and it will tolerate frost, dry periods, and coastal conditions once established. Beaufortia sparsa is commonly added to mixed plantings to add both autumn colour and attract birds.
