Berberis Little Favourite Details

Berberis Little Favourite is a compact and rounded, deciduous shrub featuring colourful foliage. The foliage emerges purple-dark red in spring and remains this colour until autumn. As autumn progresses the foliage develops red and orange tones before falling. Tiny cream-white flowers are borne in early spring and appear with the emerging foliage. They are followed by small, red berries through late summer and autumn which often attract birds. It grows densely to about 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a moist, well-drained soil in either full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, and periods of dry once established. Berberis Little Favourite is commonly used in borders, trimmed into a small hedge, or maintained in a container. The richly coloured foliage and bright autumn colours are great for adding flair to the garden.
