Caesalpinia gilliesii, commonly known as Poinciana or Bird of Paradise tree, is a large shrub that produces clusters of yellow and red flowers above the fern-like, green foliage. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and wide with a broad and somewhat open growth habit. Caesalpinia gilliesii is commonly used in mixed and border plantings, planted around pool areas and other outdoor living spaces, or used as a backdrop to smaller plants.
