Calliandra tweedii, commonly known as Red Flash or the Mexican Flame Bush, is a shrub grown for its foliage and striking flowers. It bears masses of large and showy, pink-red, pom-pom like flowers which are produced through most of the year, but predominantly in summer. It produces sprawling, outward reaching branches that carry fine and delicate green foliage as it grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Calliandra tweedii is an ideal plant to grow as a specimen, adding to mixed plantings, using as a backdrop for smaller plants, and suits coastal, cottage, Mediterranean, oriental, and tropical gardens.

Calliandra tweedii, commonly known as Red Flash or the Mexican Flame Bush, is a shrub grown for its foliage and striking flowers. It bears masses of large and showy, pink-red, pom-pom like flowers which are produced through most of the year, but predominantly in summer.
