Callistemon viminalis ‘Hot Pink’ is an attractive variety of the commonly known, Bottlebrush, and is renowned for its flowers. Bright pink flowers are produced from spring through autumn and literally transform the plant into a mass of colour and are great for attracting birds and bees. The olive-green leaves serve as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. This Bottlebrush grows as a rounded bush to about 1.4 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will, however, tolerate a wide variety of climatic conditions including moderate frost and coastal environments as well as most soil types, barring extreme wet or dry. This makes it an easy to grow plant and is both tough and low maintenance. Callistemon ‘Hot Pink’ is commonly added to a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, mass planted on a bank, or planted to provide vibrant colour.
