Callistemon Lavender Showers is an attractive variety of the commonly known, Bottlebrush, and is renowned for its colourful flowers. Lavender coloured flowers are produced during spring and summer and literally transform the plant into a mass of colour and are great for attracting birds and bees. The mid-green leaves serve as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. It grows as a rounded bush to about 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will, however, tolerate a wide variety of climatic conditions including moderate frost and coastal environments as well as most soil types, barring extreme wet or dry. This makes it an easy to grow plant and is both tough and low maintenance.
