How to grow the Callistemon Mauve Mist bottlebrush

To grow Callistemon 'Mauve Mist', plant it in a sunny position with well-drained soil, as this variety performs best in full sun and tolerates a range of soil types, including clay and loam. Water regularly during the establishment phase, then reduce frequency as the plant becomes drought-tolerant. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially in wetter climates. Apply a layer of mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage repeat blooming. Feed in spring with a low-phosphorus fertiliser suitable for native plants. Mauve Mist typically grows to about 1.5–2 metres high and wide, producing eye-catching mauve bottlebrush flowers that attract birds and bees. It's a hardy, low-maintenance plant ideal for borders, feature planting, or as part of a mixed native garden.
