Callistemon Mauve Mist is a vigorous shrub grown for its bottlebrush like flowers. The flowers are mauve-pink and produced in spring and autumn. They are complemented with mid-green foliage held with a somewhat pendulous manner. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide but is often pruned back to just behind the flowers after the spring flush. Mauve Mist grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions including moderate frost, dry periods, coastal environments, and most soil types, barring the extremes of wet and dry. Callistemon Mauve Mist is an easy to grow and relatively low maintenance plant that is commonly grown as a small specimen, planted as a backdrop for smaller plants, planted to provide shelter and screening, or used to attract wildlife.
