Camellia Alpen Glo is an evergreen shrub renowned for its tight flower buds which open to reveal tiny, blush-pink, single flowers. These are produced from late winter through spring and are complemented with semi-glossy, mid-green leaves. It grows relatively compactly to about 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of moderate frost once established as well as cool, and humid climates. Camellia Alpen Glo is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container on a patio or the like.
