“Exquisite” is an evergreen shrub that produces single, light pink blooms with a pale yellow centre. The mildly fragrant blooms are produced en masse amidst the glossy, green foliage from winter through spring. It grows relatively compactly to about 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of moderate frost once established as well as cool, and humid climates. “Exquisite” is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container on a patio or the like.
