Camellia japonica Ballet Dancer is an evergreen shrub that produces exquisite, semi-double, cream-coloured flowers that are shaded with coral pink at the edges. These are borne from spring through summer and provide elegance to the semi-glossy, green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of cool and humid climates as well as moderate frost once established. Camellia Ballet Dancer is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is also well suited to being maintained in a container.
