Camellia sasanqua Crimson Tide is an evergreen shrub that produces single, pink flowers with prominent yellow centres from spring through early summer. The flowers are complemented with the semi-glossy, green foliage. It is relatively compact plant with an upright habit and typically reaches 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of cool and humid climates as well as moderate frost once established. Camellia Crimson Tide is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
