Camellia sasanqua Weroona is a popular, evergreen shrub that flowers from late autumn and early winter. It produces showy, white flowers blushed with pink, which becomes darker as the flowers age. The flowers are complemented with glossy, dark green foliage. It grows relatively compactly to about 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained soil that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of cool and humid climates as well as moderate frost once established. Camellia sasanqua Weroona is commonly grown as specimen, clipped into a hedge, added to a mixed planting, used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
