Carissa macrocarpa, commonly known as the Natal Plum, is a shrub grown for its foliage, flowers, and berries. It grows as a rounded mound of lush, mid-green foliage held on spiny stems. The foliage is adorned with small, white flowers during spring which results in dark red berries in autumn. It grows densely to about 2 m tall and the same wide though can be trimmed as necessary. In favourable environments it may grow significantly larger.
