Carmichaelia appressa, Prostrate Broom, Appressed Broom
Carmichaelia appressa, commonly known as Prostrate Broom, is a fast-growing, NZ native shrub that grows with a prostrate habit to about 70 cm tall and 2 m wide. It carries fine, green leaves held on somewhat wiry stems. During spring and summer, it bears masses of white flowers with purple streaks. Carmichaelia appressa is commonly used as a groundcover, in rock gardens, or planted along the edges of walls where it can spill over the edge.
