Carmichaelia glabrescens is an interesting shrub grown for its interesting foliage and colourful flowers. Through summer the plant is transformed by clusters of small, mildly fragrant, pretty, pink flowers. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate wind, frost, cool climates, and coastal environments. Carmichaelia glabrescens is commonly used in mixed plantings, as a backdrop for smaller plants, or anywhere a hardy and interesting plant is required.
