Ceanothus Henri desfosse produces clusters of violet blue flowers during summer and autumn across the plant. The foliage comprises small and glossy, dark green leaves which provide a lovely backdrop to the flowers. New stems are rich red in colour but age to green as it grows to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide. Ceanothus Henri desfosse is commonly included in mixed plantings and in cottage gardens.

Ceanothus Henri desfosse is grown for its intense and pretty flowers. It produces clusters of violet blue flowers during summer and autumn across the plant. The foliage comprises small and glossy, dark green leaves which provide a lovely backdrop to the flowers. New stems are rich red in colour but age to green. It typically grows with a rounded shape to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide with best performance achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate some coastal exposure and is hardy to frost once established. Ceanothus Henri desfosse is commonly included in mixed plantings and in cottage gardens. Trimming after flowering will help keep the foliage dense.
