Clianthus puniceus, commonly known as Kakabeak, is a NZ native shrub that produces masses of beak-like flowers during spring and summer. The showy, bright red flowers literally transform the plant during this time. The mid-green foliage provides a lovely backdrop to the flowers as it grows to 2 m tall and the same wide.
