Coprosma Taiko Details

Coprosma propinqua Taiko is a fast-growing, NZ native shrub that is often used as a groundcover. This Coprosma produces prostrate stems that host olive green leaves which often develop purple tones in winter. Small, inconspicuous flowers in summer are followed by blue berries in autumn which add additional interest to this plant. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It tolerates dry periods, wind, coastal conditions, and frost. Coprosma Taiko is commonly mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank, used in rock gardens, included in borders, or planted on the edge of a wall where it can spill over the edge. This is an ideal plant for tough locations and where a low maintenance plant is required.
