Coprosma antipoda Details

Coprosma antipoda (aka Coprosma rugosa) is a NZ native, bushy shrub. It features deep bronze-green leaves on rigid red-orange stems. Female plants produce blue berries in autumn which adds a further dimension to this plant. It typically grows 1 m tall and 1.5 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It is hardy to frost, wind, dry periods, coastal conditions, and cold climates but does require a well-drained site. Coprosma antipoda is a tough plant is often used as an informal hedge, in mixed plantings, or in alpine gardens. Landscape gardeners will often use it to provide interesting colour and texture to a garden.
