Coprosma autumnalis Details

Coprosma autumnalis, commonly known as Kanono or Raurēkau, is a fast growing, NZ native shrub. This evergreen features glossy, dark green leaves which are adorned with cream-coloured flowers in spring. The flowers result in masses of orange berries through summer and autumn which are fantastic for attracting birds. It typically reaches 5 m tall and 4 m wide though it can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will tolerate heavy soils, frost, cool climates, dry periods, moderate wind, and coastal environments. Coprosma autumnalis is ideal for planting around ponds and alongside streams, using in native restoration projects, adding to a mixed planting, or planting to attract birds. This is a low maintenance and easy to grow plant that is very forgiving.
