Coprosma colensoi is an evergreen shrub renowned for its foliage variations. The tiny leaves on this NZ native are held densely on rigid stem and can be small and round, or long and narrow. Small flowers result in red berries during summer which are great for attracting birds. It grows with an upward habit to about 2-3 m tall and the same wide. It performs best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is also tolerant of dry periods, frost, cold climates, wind, and coastal conditions. Coprosma colensoi is commonly added to a mixed planting, used in native revegetation plantings, or planted to attract birds.
