Coprosma Galaxy is a NZ native shrub grown for its colourful foliage. The small, green leaves are flecked with gold and held on slender, dark stems. This evergreen grows with a narrow and upright habit to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary which encourages new growth. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This hardy plant will tolerate most soils, barring extreme wet or dry, as well as coastal conditions, wind, and moderate frost. Coprosma Galaxy is commonly trimmed into a hedge, included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or planted around outdoor living areas. When grown for hedging plants should be spaced 75 cm apart.

Coprosma Galaxy Hedge

To grow a Coprosma Galaxy hedge, the plants should be spaced 50 cm apart. If you desire a dense hedge faster, feel free to space them 40 cm apart. Trimming should be undertaken during active growth in spring with just the sides trimmed so the plants continue to grow upwards. Most Coprosma Galaxy hedges are kept to about 1-1.5 m tall and with regular trimming they look amazing!
