To grow a Coprosma Golden Glow hedge, the plants should be spaced 40-50 cm apart. If you desire a dense hedge faster, feel free to space them 30-40 cm apart. Trimming should be undertaken during active growth in spring with just the sides trimmed so the plants continue to grow upwards. Most Coprosma Golden Glow hedges are kept to about 80-100 cm tall and with regular trimming they look amazing!
Coprosma Golden Glow is a great choice in landscaping projects. It is commonly included in a mixed planting, trimmed into a hedge, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and barbecue areas, or used anywhere an attractive, hardy, and low maintenance shrub is required. Landscape gardeners often use this Coprosma to provide texture, interest, and to contrast with other plant colours. It is a low maintenance and very rewarding plant.

The most important part of Coprosma Golden Glow care is to make sure they have a well-drained soil that does not become waterlogged at any time. This, along with over-watering, are the main causes of plants to fail to perform or die. The next critical elements are weed control and The Plant Company recommends an organic mulch is spread around the plants after planting. They should be fed in spring with a native plant fertiliser. They rarely suffer from any pests or diseases but you may want to keep an eye out for mealy bugs. Overall, they are a very easy plant to care for.
Coprosma Golden Glow grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. We cannot emphasise enough the importance of good drainage as plants can become diseased and die if drainage is poor or they are consistently waterlogged. It will tolerate coastal environments, wind, and frost. In short, the better the growing conditions, the better your Coprosma will grow.
