The colours are magnificent and tend to intensify during winter. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This hardy plant will tolerate most soils and levels of moisture through it does require protection from heavy frost, particularly when young. Coprosma Golden Star is commonly used as a specimen, trimmed into a hedge, included in mixed plantings, maintained in a container, planted around outdoor living areas, or used soften a dull or plain wall.
