Coprosma grandifolia Details

Coprosma grandifolia, commonly known as Kanono, Manono, or Large Leaf Coprosma, is a NZ native shrub grown for its glossy foliage and colourful berries. It features large and lush, dark green leaves. The foliage becomes adorned with small white flowers in spring which result in orange berries in summer. Native birds love the berries, and they will come from far and wide to feed. It typically grows to 6 m tall and 3 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. This plant prefers shady conditions and a well-drained soil that does not dry out. It will tolerate being planted in full sun, moderate frost, and heavier soils. Coprosma grandifolia is ideal for riparian and revegetation planting, including in a mixed planting, using in woodland gardens, planting around stream and pond areas, or simply growing to attract birds.
