Coprosma Mangatangi is a NZ native shrub renowned for its impressive yet unusual appearance. It is low-growing and carries wiry, yellow branches that bear small leaves. As the leaves age, they turn from light green to gold. It typically grows as a tight mound to 75 cm high and the same wide, growing best in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained site. The most intense leaf colouring occurs when it is positioned in full sun. This hardy plant tolerates dry periods, frost, some wind, cool climates, coastal conditions, and most soils except the extremes of wet and dry. Coprosma Mangatangi is often added to mixed plantings, included in coastal gardens, used as a border plant, included in pool gardens, or maintained in a container.
