Coprosma tenuifolia is a fast-growing, NZ native shrub featuring large, green leaves. The leaves will often develop purple undertones as winter sets in. It produces plain flowers during summer that result in orange berries in autumn which are great for attracting birds. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide, performing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This evergreen is hardy and will tolerate most soil conditions except at the extremes of wet and dry. It also tolerates coastal conditions, moderate frost, and wind. Coprosma tenuifolia is commonly used as a screen, hedge, added to mixed plantings, or included in native revegetation plantings.
