It carries small and rounded, glossy leaves that are a mix of red, yellow, and green. As cooler weather sets in the colouring intensifies. This evergreen grows compactly and densely to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This hardy plant will tolerate most soils, barring extreme wet or dry, as well as coastal conditions, some wind, and moderate frost. Coprosma Tequila Sunrise is commonly trimmed into a hedge, included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, used to brighten a dull corner, or planted around outdoor living areas. When grown for hedging plants should be spaced 50 cm apart.
