Cordyline Cardinal is a variety of Cabbage Tree that features long, drooping, rich purple foliage on a small tree. This NZ native typically grows to about 3 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, dry periods, moderate wind, and cool climates. Cordyline Cardinal makes a lovely specimen and is commonly planted in clusters, maintained in a container, included in mixed plantings, used to line a driveway or entrance, or planted to soften a bland wall.
