Corokia Little Prince

Korokio Little Prince, Corokia cotoneaster Little Prince

Corokia Little Prince is a small and twiggy, NZ native shrub that features small, grey-brown leaves and black stems. The slim, intertwined stems afford an unusual element to this plant. It produces masses of small, yellow flowers in spring which are followed by red berries in autumn as it grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Corokia Little Prince clips into an excellent hedge and it perfect for adding contrast and variety to a mixed planting.

How to grow a Corokia Little Prince hedge

Corokia Little Prince makes for a fabulous hedge and it all begins with getting the correct plant spacing. To achieve a dense hedge quickly, the plants should be spaced 45 cm apart. If you space them wider the hedge will take longer to fill in and become wider overall. The best Corokia Little Prince hedges are lightly trimmed during spring and again in autumn. Be sure to feed them in spring with tree fertiliser to maintain the health and integrity of the hedge.
