This Corokia grows best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. The Mangatangi Corokia is commonly used as low to medium sized hedge but makes a great addition to mixed plantings, particularly on those difficult to grow sites.

Corokia Mangatangi Hedge

Corokia Mangatangi makes for a fabulous hedge and it all begins with getting the correct plant spacing. To achieve a dense hedge quickly, the plants should be spaced 45 cm apart. If you space them wider the hedge will take longer to fill in and become wider overall. The best Corokia Mangatangi hedges are lightly trimmed during spring and again in autumn.
