“Lilac Time” is a small, deciduous shrub grown for its prolific flowering. It bears masses of fragrant, lilac pink, pea like flowers from spring through summer which transform the plant into a thing of beauty. These are held on upright, slender stems which host small, dark green leaves. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. This hardy plant is tolerant of coastal conditions, frost, cool climates, wind, and dry periods. “Lilac Time” is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as an informal hedge, mass planted on a bank or as a groundcover, or used to brighten a stark corner. Its hardiness, ease to grow, and aesthetic appeal makes this plant a popular choice.
