Cytisus Snow Queen Details

Cytisus Snow Queen is a deciduous shrub grown for its pretty flowers and tidy growth habit. Masses of pea like flowers are borne through spring and summer, and transform the plant into a sea of white. The flowers are contrasted beautifully with slender stems that carry small, dark green leaves. The leaves develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, though it is tolerant of coastal conditions, frost, cool climates, wind, and dry periods. Cytisus Snow Queen is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown as an informal hedge, showcased as a mass planting on a bank, used to brighten a stark corner, or included in “white” gardens.
