Daphne Mezereon, February Daphne, Spurge Laurel
Daphne mezereum, commonly known as Daphne Mezereon, February Daphne, or Spurge Laurel, produces highly scented, pink flowers in spring before the leaves emerge and result in red berries. The foliage is lush, mid-green, and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. Daphne mezereum is commonly planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, included in mixed and border plantings, maintained in a container, added to cottage gardens, or planted close to a window or door so the fragrance can fill the house.
