Daphne odora Cameo, commonly known as Winter Daphne, is grown for its highly fragrant flowers and great aesthetics. It produces highly fragrant, purple-pink and white flowers from late winter through spring. These are complemented with lush, dark green leaves. It grows as a medium-sized, evergreen shrub with a rounded growth habit to about to about 75 cm tall and the same wide. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that is slightly acidic. It is tolerant of moderate frosts and cool climates, but very intolerant of poorly drained soils and dry periods. Daphne Cameo is commonly planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, included in mixed and border plantings, maintained in a container, added to cottage gardens, or planted close to a window or door so the fragrance can fill the house.
