Deutzia gracilis produces masses of brilliant, lightly scented, white blossoms in spring. These are held among the gently arching stems which support the deep green foliage as it grows to 1 m tall and 1.3 m wide. As autumn progresses the leaves turn yellow before falling. Deutzia gracilis is well suited for “white” gardens, lighting up a bland corner, container growing, or adding to a mixed planting.

Deutzia gracilis Details

Deutzia gracilis is an outstanding shrub grown for its profuse flowering. It grows with an upright habit and produces masses of brilliant, lightly scented, white blossoms in spring. These are held among the gently arching stems which support the deep green foliage. As autumn progresses the leaves turn yellow before falling. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 1.3 m wide, growing best in a sunny position on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is hardy to frost and cold climates but does require good moisture during dry periods. Deutzia gracilis is well suited for “white” gardens, lighting up a bland corner, container growing, or adding to a mixed planting.
