Elaeagnus submacrophylla is a medium-sized, evergreen shrub renowned for both its foliage and flowers. The lush leaves are deep green with a silvery hue and held densely on short stems. The white flowers in autumn are small and fragrant, and are followed by orange berries. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Elaeagnus submacrophylla is commonly trimmed into a hedge, used for topiary, included in coastal gardens, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, planted for screening purposes, or included in mixed plantings.
