Hebe Black Panther is a popular variety of Hebe due to both its colourful foliage and flowers. It grows as a rounded shrub carrying glossy, green foliage with a purple tone. New leaves emerge with dominant dark purple overtones. The foliage is adorned by spectacular sprays of light purple flowers through spring and summer. This evergreen grows compactly to about 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is hardy to moderate frost, cool climates, coastal environments, and periods of dry.
