Hebe chathamica is a low growing shrub that has a prostrate and rambling growth habit. This evergreen carries small, light green leaves and pretty, lilac-coloured flowers in summer. The flowers gradually fade to white with age. It typically grows to 20 cm tall and 60 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is frost hardy and tolerant of coastal conditions. Hebe chathamica looks best when mass planted as a groundcover but is also effective for borders, rock gardens, or planted so it can spill out over a path or steps.
