Hebe diosmifolia Mauve is a spreading, NZ native shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. Impressive, mauve-coloured flowers, which fade to white with age, adorn the plant from winter through until summer. These are borne above the small and glossy, green foliage. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, moderate wind, dry periods, and coastal environments. Hebe Mauve looks most effective when planted in clusters and is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, or added to a cottage garden. It is also well suited to being mass planted on a bank or the like.
