Hebe elliptica grows as a bushy shrub with slender stems that carry short, fleshy, green leaves with a light edge. The foliage is complemented during winter and spring with clusters of tiny, mauve-white flowers at the ends of branches as it grows to 1 m tall and the same wide. Hebe elliptica looks most effective when planted in groups and is commonly included in mixed plantings, borders, or planted around the base of larger trees.

Hebe elliptica Details

Hebe elliptica is grown for both its foliage and flowers. It grows as a bushy shrub with slender stems that carry short, fleshy, green leaves with a light edge. The foliage is complemented during winter and spring with clusters of tiny, mauve-white flowers at the ends of branches. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is frost hardy and tolerant of both coastal environments and short periods of dry.
