First Light Hebe, Hebe First Light Plant

Hebe First Light is a spreading, NZ native shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. New foliage emerges with distinctive, dark pink undertones and ages to become glossy and dark green. Impressive, light pink flower spikes are borne from spring through summer above the foliage as it grows to 50 cm tall and 90 cm wide. Hebe First Light looks most effective when planted in clusters and is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or added to a cottage garden.

Hebe First Light Details

Hebe First Light is a spreading, NZ native shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. New foliage emerges with distinctive, dark pink undertones and ages to become glossy and dark green. Impressive, light pink flower spikes are borne from spring through summer above the foliage. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 50 cm tall and 90 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, moderate wind, dry periods, and coastal conditions. Hebe First Light looks most effective when planted in clusters and is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, maintained in a container, or added to a cottage garden. It is also well suited to being mass planted on a bank or the like.
