It is renowned for the masses of small, mauve-white flowers produced in spring through summer off slender stems. These sit neatly above the glossy green leaves as it grows to 50 cm tall and 1.5 m wide. Hebe hulkeana is ideal for including in mixed plantings, mass planting as a groundcover, including in borders, or planting around the base of trees and large shrubs.

Hebe hulkeana, commonly known as the New Zealand Lilac, is an open and sprawling evergreen shrub. It is renowned for the masses of small, mauve-white flowers produced in spring through summer off slender stems. These sit neatly above the glossy green leaves and certainly add another level of interest to this plant. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site.
