“Icing Sugar” is a variety of Hebe grown for its compact form and prolific flowering through summer and autumn. Short flower spikes carrying pink and white flowers are borne amidst the lush and glossy, dark green leaves. This NZ native grows with a rounded shape to about 70 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is a hardy shrub that will tolerate coastal conditions, dry periods, cool climates, and frost, though protection from heavy frosts is recommended. “Icing Sugar” is ideal for including in a mixed planting, mass planting either as a groundcover or on a bank, adding to borders, including in cottage gardens, or planting around outdoor living areas.
